‘More work needs to be done to improve beach scrubland’

EDITOR - The Environment Agency is paid by our taxes but in the last 11 years no work has been carried out on the strip of land/ scrub from the X-Site to the Pier - it is a disgrace to the town of Skegness.

A third of the trees and bushes are dead and if they were coppiced back it would make the cleaner’s job a lot easier to clean the site.

Coppicing is not pulling out the bush or trees, but cutting them back while leaving the roots to bind the sand.

The land in question is owned by East Lindsey District Council but managed by the Environment Agency. The town and district councils should have been monitoring the site.

I would like to thank Coun Carl Macey for all his help in this matter.
