Letter: Time to take a stand on parking

EDITOR - Harry Morris is so right in last week’s Standard about the inconsiderate parking of motor vehicles in Skegness.

There is double parking in many places, and numerous blockings of road junctions and of course, the regular school parking rumpus.

It’s time for the council to get more ‘no waiting’ areas, all the year round.

Look what’s happening outside the Embassy now, when numerous cars can park on bus stops and opposite side of the road, causing mayhem.

The superintendent of police should announce immediately in the press, and on radio and TV, that motorists have three days to stop parking at junctions and stop obstructions everywhere, including schools.

After this public warning, the police should act with vigour.

This should include the towing away and the crushing of offending motor vehicles, making everyone so happy.
