Letter: These volunteers risk their lives for us

EDITOR - It was nice to see the RNLI raising funds for all those who risk their lives for people in difficulties in the sea.

Now summer is coming I think, as usual, they will be working flat out again.

I would like to thank the manager of the Hildreds, Pete Roffe, and the assistant manager, Steve Andrews, who did a lot of work on the model they dressed up to look like one of the crewmen, and also members of the Lincolnshire Poacher lifeboat, who were collecting for their appeal.

It is also worth remembering that they are all volunteers.

They do not get paid for what all the lads do when going out in all weathers, day and night, for those in danger at sea or inshore.

Let’s hope we have a good summer and holidaymakers enjoy themselves and obey signs and tides, and hope the lifeboat will not have to be called out.
