LETTER: Peter will never be forgotten

I am writing on behalf of the Skegness Musical Theatre Company (formerly the Skegness Operatic Company) to express our deep regret on the death of Peter Emmens.

Peter directed our company for many years and played a lead role upon the stage alongside his late wife Hilary in many memorable productions.

His boundless enthusiasm and energy along with his creative and artistic talents were, and still remain, at the heart of our company.

Although Peter retired from directing and acting he still remained a part of the society as our president up until a few years ago.

I have directed the company for the last 10 years and I had a most excellent tutor working alongside Peter as choreographer.

I saw his dedication to perfection among the performers and his skill at satisfying an audience first-hand and I have strived to follow his legacy.

He was a very iconic gentleman and he will be greatly missed, but definitely not forgotten.

Our society, along with the Skegness Playgoers, are hoping to perform a fundraising concert in dedication to Peter sometime in the near future.
