Letter: Only fools put themselves in life-threatening situations

EDITOR - There has been much talk lately, regarding the closure of coastguard stations, etc, around the British Isles.

Various life-saving organisations should be scrapped immediately, because 95 per cent of the people who need to be rescued have been fools to be in their life threatening situation.

The genuine five per cent, eg trawlermen, could easily be rescued by RAF helicopters.

All the time, barmy people know they will be rescued from the sea/mountains, etc, they will continue to do the most stupid things. Let them die.

I have spoken to 621 people about this matter, and every one agrees with me, regarding this rescue mess.

From today, all voluntary work and your money donations to lifeboats, etc, should be given to our hospitals and medical research (excluding animals).
