‘Abseil off county landmark’

EDITOR - Please support the British Red Cross by signing up for the Grimsby Dock Tower abseil on Sunday, August 14.

Take on the challenge of the 275ft abseil and you’ll be able to raise funds for people in crisis both here in the UK and all over the world.

Our experienced instructors will make sure that you have the confidence to step over the edge of one of Lincolnshire’s most stunning landmarks. You don’t need any previous experience, as all the training will take place on the day. All you do need to do is raise £100 in sponsorship money.

In the UK thousands of people recovering from injury use our Dial-a-Wheelchair Service, and many others benefit from our mobility shops.

Our Fire and Emergency Support Service volunteers provide invaluable help to those left ransacked by fire or flooding. And one day a First Aid trained volunteer could save your life, too.

If you want to abseil down this famous maritime monument for the British Red Cross then you can sign up online, visit www.redcross.org.uk or text ‘DOCK’ and your name to 07710710827 or e-mail cjackson@redcross.org.uk. The entry fee - for a guaranteed place - is just £10.

Remember, this isn’t an ordinary abseil: the views are stunning, the challenge is immense, and the cause is more than worthwhile.
