Wainfleet branch of Royal British Legion holds silence to mark 70th anniversary of Dambusters raid

At the latest meeting of the Wainfleet Branch of the Royal British Legion, members held a homage and silence to remember those involved with the Dambusters raid of 70 years ago.

Items on the agenda included the format of the annual conference.

The chair, Mrs Pat Nicholas, presented certifiates of award and appreciation to Miller Court for their support and help during the annual poppy appeals. This was collected by vice chair, Sue Simpson to donate.

Gillian Clarke, treasurer, received a RBL broach for 15 years service and Stuart Simpson, auditor, received a ten year certificate.

Because of a double-booking, the Darren Busby concert on July 3 has been cancelled. He’ll return in 2014.
