Voter registration letters should be dropping on the doormats of East Lindsey residents in the the next few days
The letters aim to make sure that everyone who is eligible to vote is correctly registered and gives those not registered the opportunity to do so before the April 20 deadline for this year’s elections on May 7.
Residents should read the letter to make sure that the details of individuals registered at the property are correct – if the information is incorrect residents need to contact East Lindsey District Council using details supplied in the letter.
East Lindsey returning officer Stuart Davy said: “It is important that everyone makes sure that they are registered to vote. Following the changes that came into effect last year in the way people register to vote there may be a need for some residents to register again ahead of next year’s elections. I would urge everyone to read their letter and if the details are wrong, let us know.”
Anyone who needs to register to vote can do so online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
