Volunteers needed for re-shaped library service

The community group taking on the running of Alford Library when Lincolnshire County Council relinquishes control at the end of September, is looking for local volunteers.

Known as Alford Focal Point, the new service will re-open later this year from the current building, on South Market Place, and offer local services as well as a library.

Group chairman Richard Quantrell explained: “We are looking to open the centre for nine hours a week initially. To do this I believe we need a nucleus of twelve people who can give just a few hours each month. Obviously the more volunteers we can attract, the greater the flexibility.”
