FAYRE - The Annual Christmas Fayre will be held in the Parish Rooms and St. Mary’s Church on Saturday, November 16 from 10am to noon.

Stalls will include cakes, preserves, tombola, competitions, a raffle and the Wildlife Trust. Tea and coffee will be available.

“Come and do your Christmas shopping with your friends,” said a spokesperson.

WI - Sue West showed slides and talked about her sponsorship of a family in Gambia during the October meeting.

Her talk graffically demonstrated the difference between the life in England and that country, particularly in education.

Kath Round gave the vote of thanks.

An excellent day had been spent visiting Scampton RAF museum and Hemswell Antiques Centre.

Next year’s subscription will be £34.70, payable in January. Any new member may pay now to include the rest of this year and next also.

The Annual Dinner will take place in either late January or early Februar y at Southview.

The competition for a piece of native art was won by Pat Bourn with Mary Perry in second and Sylvia Bell in third. The raffle was won by Margaret Townley.

Ivy Wright provided flowers for the table and tea hostesses were Pat Bourn and Brenda Rawlings. Members shared in Chris Whitbread’s Golden Wedding cake.

The meeting on November 11 will be craft with Betty Pogson.
