Village News: Friskney

WI - The annual resolutions discussion was held at the May meeting.

This year there was only one resolution put forward to be presented at the AGM at the Royal Albert Hall. This was for the provision of more midwives.

The resolution was approved, with some reservations, and the voting would be left to the discretion of the delegate.

The rest of the evening was taken up with a Beetle Drive, which caused the usual hilarity.

The prize for the highest accumulated points total went to Hilary Jarvis, and the best drawn beetle was won by Cyndy Walton.

The raffle was won by Frances McDonald. This month’s competition was for an old board game, and was won by Jayne Richardson.

Liz Burbridge came second and Ann Kirk was in third place.

The successful entrants in the Flower of the Month competition were Liz Burbridge, Jacquie Stokes and Shirley Bull.

The next meeting will be held on June 12 at 7.30pm in the Village Hall.

The speaker will be Simon Rummery who will be telling the group about the “Wildlife History of Frieston Shore and Frampton Marsh”.

Visitors are always welcome.
