Village News: Croft


WI - Croft Marsh WI president Trisha welcomed 20 members to the group’s first meeting of the new year.

The speaker for the evening was Simon Rummery, the lead field teacher from Lincolnshire Wash Reserves, which are the RSPB reserves at Freiston Shore and Frampton Marsh.

Simon gave two most interesting talks, one on Freiston Shore and the other about Frampton Marsh, accompanied by slides.

“There are many activities held at both sites for people to go and join in,” said a spokesperson. “Simon’s talk made you want to go and participate. “

One birthday gift was given.

Competition results were:- Bloom of the month - 1, Barbara Ranyard; 2, Joy Scott; 3, Chris Padley. Country Poem - 1, Linda Fisher; 2, Joy Scott; 3, Chris Padley.

Croft Marsh WI meets on the second Thursday in the month.

The speaker for the February meeting is Tony Spencer. His subject will be “Baking and confectionery”. Everybody is welcome.
