Village News: Croft

WI - Twenty one members and two guests attended the July meeting of Croft Marsh WI.

President Trisha told the group about the forthcoming events and excursions and they were entertained by speaker Chrissy Kirk from Homefield Alpacas.

Chrissy gave an insight into how she got interested in Alpacas, using them at first to keep her grass down. Afterwards Chrissy then started a breeding programme.

When the alpacas are sheared, the fleeces go to the local mill to be cleaned and spun into wool and then knitted into beautiful soft garments.

A very interesting evening was had by all and one birthday gift was presented.

Competition results for July are: Flower of the Month - 1, Anne Fox; 2, Jane Holmes; 3, Barbara Ranyard.
