AUCTION - Burgh Baptist Church will be holding an auction of quality household items today (Saturday, July 13).

The auction begins at 2pm with viewing from 1pm.

Refreshments will be served and proceeds are in aid of the church’s new-build fund.

BARN - The barn dance workshops are taking a break and will resume again on Friday, September 6 at 7.30pm in the WI Hall.

CAR - A car boot sale is held every Thursday morning on the Marsh Lane sports field in aid of the Burgh and District Sports Association.

GARDEN - Willow Cottage in Burgh le Marsh is set to throw its garden open to the public for three days next weekend through the National Gardens Scheme.

The Gravel Pit Lane property will open its garden on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 19, 20 and 21 from 2pm to 5pm each day.

It will also be open every Friday until August 30 from 2pm to 5pm.

The event will feature a ‘Tom Sawyer’ adventure, woodland walks, ponds, bridges, nooks and crannies.

Organisers have described the garden as “a wildlife haven with many tranquil spots to alight and relax”, and “a photographer’s heaven”.

“There is a Victorian greenhouse, vegetable patch, and chickens,” they continued.

“Be sure to take tea on the terrace and enjoy delicious home-made cakes from Aunt Polly’s kitchen.”

The garden is located roughly six miles west of Skegness and south of the Gunby roundabout on the A158.

Admission is £3 and children go free.

The National Gardens Scheme raises over £2.6 million every year for national nursing, gardening and other charitable causes. It is the single largest benefactor to Macmillan Cancer Support and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

LINE DANCING - This popular yet informal group lines up for footwork, friendship and fun at Burgh Baptist Church, on Wednesdays at 2pm.

NURSING - Parish Nursing Drop In sessions are held at Burgh Baptist Church on Fridays from 10am to 11.45am.

People of all ages are welcome to pop in for a check up, support or prayer with Nurse Mandy and the team (no appointment necessary), or just to enjoy a chat over coffee and scones.

PHOENIX GROUP - The group offers support and friendship for those facing loneliness from various circumstances and prayer is available if desired.

The group also enjoy outings to different venues and guest speakers from time to time.

Meetings are held on Wednesdays from 10.30am to noon at Burgh Baptist Church.

YOUTH - Burgh Baptist Church’s youth programmes offer weekday fun for all ages.

Impact chills out on Mondays at 6.30pm for year six and up, Kings Club meets on Tuesdays at 6pm for reception to year five and Little Treasures parents and toddlers gather on Thursdays at 1.30pm.

Newcomers are always welcomed to any of these groups.
