BADGES - Children under 11 years and permanently resident in Burgh are still entitled to receive a free Diamond Jubilee commemorative badge, courtesy of Burgh Town Council.
Badges can be collected at Burgh Festival Day today (Saturday, July 6) from 10am to 4pm at Burgh Windmill, upon presenting proof of address for checking against the Electoral Register.
A selection of the gold badges have now also been released for general sale at three pounds each and will be available alongside the silver edition which is priced at £2.50 per badge. FLOWER FESTIVAL - Burgh Methodist Church will be holding their annual Flower Festival on Saturday, July 6 from 10am onwards when tea and coffee will be on sale all day.
Salad lunches will be available from noon. Come and relax with friends, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee amidst the beautiful floral arrangements, then stay for a salad lunch.
LINE DANCING - This popular yet informal group lines up for footwork, friendship and fun at Burgh Baptist Church on Wednesdays at 2pm. For more details contact Margaret on 810081.
MONDAY - Burgh Monday Club members and friends enjoyed a picnic at Clumber Park recently, followed by afternoon tea in the Japanese Garden.
On Wednesday, July 24, they are off to London to visit the Royal hospital Chelsea.
Looking ahead to the weekend of December 21 and 22 there is a visit to the Royal Albert Hall for the Christmas carol concert and overnight at the Tower Hotel.

MOTHERS - Burgh Mothers Union hosted a light lunch in the parish church last Wednesday. On display were the baby clothes which members have made for the premature baby unit at Pilgrim hospital Boston.
Sister Carol Chapman and Sister Iona Brown from the Neonatal Unit at the hospital attended and were delighted with the clothes which they took back with them. There were also some knitted toys as well.
In addition to their monthly meetings the Mothers Union meet every Wednesday morning for craft work and it is as a result of this that in January they decided to knit garments for the premature baby unit. Father Terry expressed his thanks to the Mothers Union members and to the staff at Pilgrim hospital.
NURSING - Parish Nursing Drop In at Burgh Baptist Church is held on Fridays from 10am to 11.45am. People of all ages are welcome to pop in for a check up, support or prayer with Nurse Mandy and the team (no appointment necessary), or just to enjoy a chat over coffee and scones.
PHOENIX GROUP - Offering support and friendship for those facing loneliness from various circumstances the Phoenix Group also offers prayer if desired.
The group also enjoy outings to different venues and guest speakers from time to time. Meetings are held on Wednesdays from 10.30am to noon at Burgh Baptist Church.

UNITED SERVICE - The Parish, Methodist and Baptist Churches of Burgh Le Marsh will jointly hold a united open air service in the new location of Tinkers Green Recreation Ground, Jackson’s Lane, Burgh le Marsh on Sunday, July 7 at 6pm.

YOUTH - Burgh Baptist Church’s youth programs offer weekday fun for all ages: Impact chills out on Mondays at 6.30pm for year six and up. Kings Club meets on Tuesdays at 6pm for reception to year five and Little Treasures parents and toddlers gather on Thursdays at 1.30pm. Newcomers are always welcomed to any of these groups.
