Village News: Burgh le Marsh

ANGELS - The Little Angels will meet next Wednesday, July 3, at 2pm in the parish church of St Peter and Paul.

ART- Burgh Baptist Church will host its annual art exhibition from Thursday, July 4 to Saturday, July 6 inclusive.

The exhibition features an array of works by local artists, and will run from 11am to 4pm daily.

The preview evening of Wednesday, July 3 will also feature a barbecue and refreshments from 6pm.

BARN - There will be a barn dance workshop in the WI Hall this Friday, June 28, at 7.30pm.

CAR - A car boot sale is held every Thursday morning on the Marsh Lane sports field in aid of the Burgh and District Sports Association.

GARDEN - A garden party in aid of St Barnabas Hospice will take place at 22, Wainfleet Road, Burgh, this Saturday, June 29, commencing at 2pm.

If wet the event will be held in the WI Hall.

The next meeting of the Garden Club is tonight (Wednesday) and is the second of this season’s garden visits.

It starts at 6pm in Horncastle.

LINE DANCING - This popular yet informal group lines up for footwork, friendship and fun at Burgh Baptist Church, on Wednesdays at 2pm.

NURSING - Parish Nursing Drop In at Burgh Baptist Church is held on Fridays, from 10am to 11.45am.

People of all ages are welcome to pop in for a check up, support or prayer with Nurse Mandy and the team (no appointment necessary), or just to enjoy a chat over coffee and scones.

PHOENIX GROUP - Support and friendship for those facing loneliness from various circumstances will be offered and prayer is available if desired.

The group also enjoys outings to different venues and guest speakers from time to time.

WI - Local author Margaret Dickinson is the guest speaker at the WI meeting next Wednesday, July 3 at 7pm, in the WI Hall.

The competition is a birthday card verse.

YOUTH - Burgh Baptist Church’s youth programmes offer weekday fun for all ages.

Impact chills out on Mondays at 6.30pm for year six and up.

Kings Club meets on Tuesdays at 6pm for reception to Year five.

And Little Treasures’ parents and toddlers gather on Thursdays at 1.30pm.
