MALE CHOIR - Burgh Forward Group is set to present The Caistor & District Male Voice Choir at Burgh Methodist Church on Friday (March 8) at 7.45pm.

AUCTION - Burgh Baptist Church will hold an auction of quality items and household effects on Saturday, March 16, with viewing from 10am before the auction commences at 11am.

Proceeds are in aid of the new church build project. Tea and coffee will be served.

BARN - The latest barn dance workshop is this Friday, March 8 at 7.30pm in the WI Hall.

CONCERT - Tickets are now available for the Alford Silver Band concert in the WI Hall on Saturday, March 16 at 7pm.

Tickets priced five pounds are available from any of the community complex committee.

DEBT - Burgh Community Debt Advice Centre has trained advisers to offer free advice ranging from simple budgeting to cases of insolvency including Debt Relief Orders, Individual Voluntary Arrangements and Bankruptcy.

DINNER - The Heritage Group committee annual diner is on Monday, March 18 at 6.30pm for 7pm in the Windmill Restaurant.

There is a choice of a two course menu at £12.95 or three courses at £15.95. Both menus are inclusive of coffee.

HERITAGE - It was all the fun of the fair at the Heritage meeting last Monday when members enjoyed an illustrated talk on the history of the Boston May fair.

Those present heard how the fair dates back to the 11th century, when it was a collection of stalls around the Stump.

As the years progressed so the fair became bigger and better and is now a well known annual event and tourist attraction.

On Monday, March 11 the subject will be The British Fire Service at war’.

Meetings are held on Mondays in the Windmill tea room at 7.30pm.

LUNCH - Men and women alike are welcome to enjoy a healthy yet tasty light lunch while listening to a talk from the Parish Nurse this weekend.

The nurse recently returned from Kenya where parish nursing is taking root. No booking is necessary and questions will be welcomed.

MOTHERS - The Mothers’ Union will meet in the choir vestry of the parish church next Wedneday, March 13 at 2pm when the speaker will be Ruth O’Melia from St Barnabas Hospice.

PHOENIX - The Phoenix Group offers support and friendship for those facing loneliness from various circumstances, and prayer is available if desired.

The group also enjoys outings to different venues and guest speakers from time to time.

QUIZ - All are welcome to pit their wits against the best brains from Burgh and beyond at a quiz night at Burgh Baptist Church on Saturday, March 9 at 7.30 pm.

The cost to enter is £5 per team, with teams limited to a four person maximum.

STATIONS - Stations of the Cross will take place in the parish church of St Peter and Paul next Monday, March 11 at 6pm.

YOUTH - Burgh Baptist Church’s youth programmes offer weekday fun for all ages: Impact chills out on Mondays at 6.30 pm for Year six and up.

Kings Club meets on Tuesdays at 6pm for Reception to Year five, and Little Treasures parents and toddlers gather on Thursdays at 1.30 pm.

Newcomers are always warmly welcomed to any of these groups.
