ANNIVERSARY - The Burgh community tea room will celebrate its 13th anniversary on Monday, October 8, when donations to charity representatives will be made at 10am.

The shop will open at 9.45am. Free refreshments will be available. All are welcome.

ANGELS - The Little Angels will meet next Wednesday, October 3 at 2pm in the parish church of St Peter and Paul.

APPLICATION - Application forms for the Jane Palmer Education Foundation must be returned by Saturday, October 6.

To qualify for grant aid you must be a resident of Burgh, up to the age of 25, seeking further education or apprenticeship

CAR - The weekly car boot sales on the Marsh Lane field have now ceased until next year.

The organisers thank everyone for their help and support in raising funds for the Burgh Sports Association and they are pleased to announce that there are now two adult teams of footballers and 15 youth teams.

HARVEST - A hot harvest lunch, organised by the social committee of St Peter and Paul Parish Church will take place in the Village Hall on Saturday, October 6 from noon to 1.30pm.

There will also be a raffle and a produce stall.

Tickets priced £6 are available from Pat Capes or Pamela Marvin.

This will be followed up on Sunday, October 7 with a family Eucharist in the Parish Church at 9.30am and Evensong at 6pm. Harvest gifts will be given to Witham Lodge in Skegness.

HARVEST FESTIVAL - Burgh Baptist Church warmly invites all to its Harvest Festival celebrations.

Enjoy a coffee, make friends and help setup the harvest display on Saturday, September 29 from 10.30am (donations of produce accepted).

Or pop along on Sunday, September 30 at 10.30am to share in thanksgiving at the morning Harvest Service. Afterwards, refreshments will be served and produce from the harvest display sold for charity.

Finally, you can partake in a light meal at the Harvest Tea at 5pm.

HISTORY - Saxon and Norman churches will be the subject at the Burgh History Group meeting on Monday, October 1 at 7.30pm when the speaker will be Stuart Sizer.

Please note the new venue is the tea room at the Burgh windmill.

Admission is £1.50 inclusive of light refreshments.

SHOW - A craft and produce show, organised by Burgh WI will take place in the WI Hall on Saturday, September 29.

The following categories are - Adults and under 16s, Art, Fruit and vegetables, Cookery and Crafts.

Setting up is at 10am. Adults are 25p per class and under 16s are free.

In the evening at 7pm there will be demonstrations by the Hall users, including Guides, Pink Ladies, Fitness League, Line Dancers and Barn Dancers.

This will be followed by Irish Bingo and a faith supper. Entrance is £3 and there will also be a raffle.

WI - Crafts will be the subject at the WI meeting next Wednesday, October 3 at 7pm in the WI Hall, when the speaker will be Jenny Lucas.

The competition is a family photograph.

WORSHIP CELEBRATION - All are welcome to join for an informal time of worship and celebration at Burgh Baptist Church on Friday, September 28 at 7pm.

This is a new monthly fixture with ‘something for everyone’.
