VIDEO: Beacon Primary pupils mark official opening with balloon release

Students at Beacon Primary Academy celebrated in style today (Friday, February 27) with a spectacular balloon release to mark the official opening of their new school.

Special guests and dignitaries were present on the day as Director for children’s Services at Lincolnshire County Council Mrs Patricia Bradwell cut the ribbon to declare the school officially open.

Staff, students and guests also celebrated on the day with specially made cake for the event as students took part in a unique assembly where students showcased their appreciation for their new educational surroundings with a video entitled ‘A day in the life of Beacon Primary Academy’ and sang a song about the importance of working ‘together’.

Chief Executive of the Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust, Sir Barry Day, OBE also unveiled the official plaque and staff, students and guests were invited to write a message in a time capsule to mark the occasion.
