AS HOUSEHOLD waste can increase during the festive season, East Lindsey District Council is keen to encourage people to continue recycling as much of their waste as they can.
Christmas cards, wrapping paper and cardboard can be put into the grey recycling bin. Glass bottles can be taken to the various recycling banks sited across the district. Tips on what to do with food leftovers can be found at www.lovefoodhatewaste.com.
Christmas trees can be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centres at Skegness, Kirkby on Bain and Louth.
Residents are also urged to check their waste calendars for any bin collection day changes - this information can also be found on the council’s website.
Since 2007 East Lindsey residents have been rated as some of the best recyclers in the UK, recycling over 55 per cent of their waste.
