15.10 - Six stables were severely damaged by fire at Chapel St Leonards this afternoon (Tuesday).

Fire crews from Skegness and Alford were scrambled to an address on the A52 Skegness Road, Chapel at 11.59am.

The fire caused severe damage to the stables. Fourteen metres of fencing was also severely damaged by heat, and a fascia board on a nearby bungalow suffered moderate damage due to heat.

The fire crews extinguished the blaze using two hose reels, one light portable pump and one main jet. Two breathing apparatus were also worn by crew during the incident.

Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue said no animals were injured in the fire, which they believe was caused by fire spreading from a manure heap.
