Britain has voted to Leave the EU - backed by 70.7 per cent of East Lindsey voters.
The results for East Lindsey were announced just after 6am with an overwhelming 56,613 votes to leave and 23,515 votes to remain. There were 50 spoilt ballot papers.
Nationally the “Leave” campaign had a four per cent lead over “Remain” at 5am and the gap appeared to be irreversible at this stage. with 316 of 382 voting areas having declared their results.
Counting for East Lindsey’s 700sq miles began at Louth’s Meridian Leisure Centre was well underway by 11pm last night with all of the 133 ballot boxes have arriving at the count centre. just after midnight.
The number of votes cast in East Lindsey’s 700sq miles is 80,179 - a turnout of 74.9 per cent.
Boston voted to leave just over an hour ago with 22,974 (75.5%) in favour. Remain votes were 7430
Minutes later South Holland and North Lincolnshire followed suit
