Travelodge has confirmed it is coming to Skegness – and wants to reassure hotels and B&Bs that the resort is big enough for all of them.
Encouraged by the news Premier Inn wants to build an 80-bed hotel and restaurant on Pier Field, a spokesman for Travelodge said the hotel chain is looking at a number of sites.

One site in particular has raised hopes in the town.
Coun Chris Pain, a Save Our Foreshore supporter, said he believed Travelodge might be interested in a site on the new £8 million Countryside Business Park off the A52.
He said: “I am very happy Travelodge has shown an interest in the Countryside Business Park. It’s what we need and in the appropriate place.”
However, while the search for a site goes on, the Travelodge spokesman said the company is excited about coming to the resort.
He said: “It’s a location where we don’t have a presence and we believe it can sustain one of our hotels. From previous experience, we have co-existed well with B&Bs and other hotel because ours if a different offer.
“What we do is grow the market.”
