Verge parking - ‘nothing we can do’

Councillors and police in Skegness say it is ‘very difficult’ to take action against the disruptive problem of vehicles parked inconsiderately on grass verges for sale.

A disgruntled Skegness resident said the town was going ‘down hill’ and resembled a ‘giant car park’ due to the practise, which he criticised during the town council’s public session last week.

Lincolnshire Police’s sergeant Kevin Williams said it was ‘very, very difficult’ to combat the problem but suggested Trading Standards as an alternative route.

And Coun Mark Smith, who is county councillor, said it was something he had raised before, but ‘there was nothing we could do.’
