A 53-year-old man from Spilsby has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving following the fatal collision in Skegness.
He has been interviewed and released on police bail.
Police have confirmed the A158 is now re-open following this morning’s (Wednesday’s) collision.
Tributes have been paid to the girl who died.
1.20pm: The girl who died in a road traffic collision in Skegness has been named locally as Jess Dunning.
It is understood the 16-year-old attended Lincoln College.
10.52am: Police have confirmed a schoolgirl died in a road traffic collision this morning.
She was aged 16.
They are also recovering five vehicles from the scene - including a coach.
9.30am: A pedestrian has died in a road traffic collision in Skegness.
Emergency services are at the scene of a fatal road collision on the A158 near to the Southview Leisure Park on Burgh Road.
The incident was reported at just after 7am this morning.
A spokesman said: “It appears that a female pedestrian is the victim. She may have been in collision with more than one vehicle. She has sadly died at the scene. We are working hard to identify the her and to inform her family and friends.”
The spokesman added the road is likely to be closed for several hours.
They added: “Local diversions will be set up. In the meantime motorists are advised to seek alternative routes which avoid the area.”
