A three vehicle crash on the A52 near the Wainfleet railway crossing last night left two people hurt and one trapped in his car.

A 75-year-old Peugeot driver from Burgh le Marsh and the 45-year-old female passenger of a green Skoda were taken to Boston Pilgrim Hospital with ‘minor whiplash injuries’.

Firefighters freed the elderly driver from his Peugeot at around 9.45pm and made the scene safe.

A 47-year-old Butterwick man who was driving the Skoda was also reported unhurt.

The road remained closed until 3.30am.
