Trees down on roads in Friskney, Huttoft and Thorpe St Peter as gales bite

Police have reported a number of trees down on roads in the local area - as gale force winds continue to batter the Lincolnshire coast.

A severe weather warning is in force for damaging gusts and Environment Agency officials earlier announced a Flood Alert for possible localised coastal flooding from Gibraltar Point northwards (see video for footage of waves on Skegness Beach earlier).

Inland the winds have also caused some problems.

A tree was brought down in Skirmore Road, Friskney at around 2.50pm, while in Huttoft a tree was felled by the wind in Alford Road at 2pm.

And Spilsby Road in Thorpe St Peter has also been affected by fallen trees.

Luckily police are reporting that none involve road closures and the Highways department are currently dealing with the obstructions.
