Train company’s winter plans

WINTER contingency plans have been announced by East Midlands Trains to minimise the risk of service disruption to its passengers.

The plans, which include improved customer communication, better contingency timetables and technical work to help trains handle extreme conditions, were introduced following last year’s harsh winter.

Managing director for East Midlands Trains David Horne said: “We have worked with Network Rail and our maintenance partners, Bombardier, to use our experience and passenger feedback from the last two years to ensure we are better prepared than ever before to deal with the impact of severe weather.”
