Teenage girl suffers ‘serious injuries’ after car leaves road near Skegness

A sixteen-year-old girl has suffered ‘serious injuries’ in a crash at Orby, near Skegness, police have said.

Emergency services were called to Gunby Road, just off the A158 bypass, at about 11.15am on Saturday (July 19), after a blue Citroen Saxo left the road and overturned in a field.

The occupants of the car were a male driver, aged 17, and three passengers, all from the Sheffield area.

The most seriously injured passenger, a 16-year-old girl, was airlifted to Hull Royal Infirmary, suffering from pelvic injuries. Another female passenger in the vehicle, was taken to Boston’s Pilgrim Hospital to be checked for abdominal pain.

The driver and a third male passenger, aged 16, escaped with minor injuries.

The road was closed until 3.30pm that afternoon.
