AN ALFORD man was taken to Lincoln County Hospital this afternoon after a fuel lorry and van collided close to the Ulceby Cross roundabout.

The incident occurred at around 12.40pm.

Initial reports said that the Alford man, who was driving the van, had been trapped by the collision - although police were unable to say if he needed to be cut free.

There is no word as to the condition of the Alford man, or any injuries he may have sustained, if any.

Police are also currently unable to say if the lorry driver was injured.

Officers closed the road at its junction with the A16 after some of the lorry’s diesel cargo spilled onto the carriageway.

The police said that the road expected to remain shut for a further two hours as of their last update at 2.50pm.
