A Skegness Lottery has been launched with a £5,000 prize for the lucky winner.
Funds from the sale of tickets will be go towards events and marketing for the town.
The lottery is organised by the Skegness Partnership, with tickets on sale through affiliated shops, cafes, bars, hotels and restaurants.
The team of Skegness Ambassadors were also selling tickets as they welcomed arrivals at the town’s railway station on Saturday.
The first draw is due to take place at the Skegness Illuminations switch-on on Saturday, August 8.
Tickets, costing £1, can be purchased until the night before, with the next draw scheduled to take place at Christmas.
A community interest company, the Skegness Partnership has a new management board and working groups with links to local business and community groups.
Secretary Judy Chapman said: “Several charities such as hospices run lotteries, but the town of Skgness is also a good cause.
“Any suplus from ticket sales will be used on marketing and events for the town and other good stuff.”
