Former Skegness telephonists enjoyed a special reunion recently when one of their number who emigrated to Canada in the 1960s popped back to the town for a visit.

June Bradley (nee Spence), who emigrated to Canada in 1967, has been back to Skegness staying with her sister Christine North, who also worked at the telephone exchange.

And June recently popped into Churchills in Skegness to join her former colleagues for coffee.

Despite the telephone exchange closing 26 years ago the former staff still meet weekly for coffee.

“As can be imagined there was a lot of reminiscing and exchanging of photos,” said one of those at the reunion, Eileen Chantry.

“June was accompanied by her daughter Karen and grand daughter Oliver,” Eileen added.
