A DEDICATED group from a phone retailer in Skegness has managed to raise vital funds for charity.
Staff at Vodafone, Skegness thought they’d take on a huge in store challenge of riding 80.6 miles on a spin bike and at the same time, raise money for the Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance charity.
“We cycled a total of 100.2 miles and smashed our target that was originally set at 80.6,” said a spokesperson.
The team also sold cakes and held a guess the teddy bear competition during the all day event, which lasted from 9am to 4pm.
The team managed to raise £185 and Vodafone have matched this, making the total £370.
“We would like to say a massive thank you to all the people that came and supported us. Also we would like to thank Home Bargains, who donated us our water supplies for the day.
“The biggest thanks also goes to the people at the Embassy Gym for donating us the equipment, as without them we couldn’t have done it. Helen Nelson, who is fitness instructor at the gym, also deserves a big well done, as she came to support us even though it was her day off,” added a spokesperson.
