Eight ladies from Spilsby’s WI agreed to be models for the night at Spilsby’s Franklin Hall recently.

The evening was hosted by the fashion outlet Bonmarche’, who provided the clothes and commentary.

The audience arrived to take their seats at 7pm and the show began.

The ladies taking part were Ann Lenton, Ann Hope, Barbara Chandler, Veronica Stonehouse, Susan West, June Caldwell, Stella Guyler and Irene Davies.

The costumes were categorised into themes and each model paraded in six outfits, which were casual, classic, evening wear, beach wear, continental and finally, bedtime wear, to include carrying a cuddly toy, mostly teddy bears, and just one dog.

At half time tea and coffee were provided together with scones made by the men’s section member, Mike Morgan and his wife Christine.

The models paraded all together for the finale and took their bows, receiving a standing ovation.

Elizabeth Lovesey gave the vote of thanks, making a special mention to Gemma, host for the night and her team of dressers and runners.

She hoped all those present enjoyed the occasion and gave the ladies a 10 percent discount off purchases from the Skegness Store.
