The Skegness British Heart Foundation (BHF) Furniture and Electrical Store celebrated six months of raising vital funds in the ‘fight for every heartbeat’ recently.

The store raises funds to help create a better future for millions of babies, children and adults in the UK.

Since opening on January 21, the store has welcomed thousands of customers through its doors.

Thanks to ongoing support from the local community, the essential funds raised have been pumped into the BHF’s life-saving research to fight coronary heart disease, the UK’s single biggest killer.

This support also makes a real difference in the local area, and the BHF helps to fund healthcare professionals, diagnostic equipment for local hospitals and surgeries and heart support groups in Skegness.

The large store has fresh stock on display daily and is appealing to locals to have a clear-out and donate any unwanted items.

It sells a huge range of furniture such as suites, sofas, chairs, dining sets, beds and wardrobes plus an array of electrical items including TVs, Hi-Fis, washing machines, fridges and dishwashers.

Selling a wide range of pre-owned, new, and vintage items, the store has something for everyone said a spokesman for the British Heart Foundation.

The Skegness store is calling on the community for more volunteers to help continue its work.

It needs 250 hours of help from volunteers each week and is encouraging all Skegness residents to get in touch if they have a few hours to spare and would like to learn new skills.

Last year BHF Furniture & Electrical Stores awarded 600 NVQs in England and Wales.

BHF Area Manager, Chris Spencer, said: “I would like to say a big thank-you to our staff, volunteers and all our loyal customers who have supported the Skegness Furniture & Electrical store over the past six months. Thanks to your generous donations and support BHF researchers are able to continue their relentless search for a breakthrough to put an end to the suffering caused by heart disease.”

“We’re hoping that the people of Skegness will continue to support us, and we urge them to continue donating unwanted household items that will help save lives and We’re also appealing to any local people who have some spare time to consider volunteering at the Skegness store. we have roles to suit everyone.
