Skegness is one of the most poupular destinations for people taking their dogs on holiday a survey has revealed.
The resort was in the top 10 places for pet owners to visit this summer according to the results published by lettings agency cottages4you.
Compared to 2013 man’s best friend enjoyed more holidays, with a year-on-year increase in the number of holidays taken with a pet. In particular, there was a sharp growth in the number of holidays taken with multiple animals - a 24 per cent increase in breaks with three or more pooches compared to the same period in 2013.
Nick Rudge, cottages4you managing director, said: “It’s great that more people have been travelling with pets this summer – our four-legged friends deserve a getaway too! It’s interesting how many more people were holidaying with multiple pets too – we even had several customers bring four or more. It’s no wonder that so many of the most popular destinations were on the coast, with plenty of space for dogs to run and enjoy themselves, and picturesque walks galore. But it seems Norfolk is definitely top dog when it comes to holidays with pets!”
