Skegness Coasters versus the Sun

THE Skegness Coasters Running Club are set to run against the sun in aid of charity later this month.

At daybreak on Sunday, November 20 the Coasters will set off from Skegness aiming to reach Lincoln before sunset.

The event is in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity close to many members’ hearts.

After leaving their starting point at Skegness Pier a relay race of nine stages will begin as the Coasters attempt to reach Lincoln over a 56-mile route that avoids main roads.

“The nine legs will be of varying lengths to allow all abilities to take part,” said a spokesperson.

“The challenging terrain will include long flat stretches but also the deceptively exerting Wolds,” they added.

To sponsor the runners visit

The club caters for runners of all abilities and meets at The Welcome Inn, Burgh Road, Skegness on Tuesday nights at 6.30pm.
