Weeks of waiting came to an end for GCSE students at Skegness Academy today (Thursday) with many celebrating excellent results.

After the ordeal of opening their envelopes Casey Burgin and Courtney Maxwell were pleased with their grades. Both will now be returning to the sixth form to study.

Casey’s results included As in English and Geography and Bs in Maths, PE and Core Science and starred distinctions in BTEC art and business courses. She said: “I am really pleased with myself. I had to take the exams over four weeks which was hard. I particularly enjoyed English and geography and am looking forward to the sixth form.”

Casey will be taking A Levels in psychology, sociology and English and BTEC law and is hoping to go on to university.

Courtney passed eight GCSEs including B grades in maths, English and psychology, She will now be studying A Levels in sociology, psychology, English and media at Skegness Academy

Courtney said: “I am really happy with most of my results, I found sociology and psychology really interesting and hope to study that at university.”

Overall results at the academy are not currently being released to the media following an appeal over grading in the English GCSE exams.
