Six residents rescued after suspected arson attack in Skegness

Six people had to be rescued after a suspected arson attack in Skegness.

A building in Lancaster Avenue, consisting of several flats, was on fire yesterday (Saturday).

Six residents had to be rescued by the Fire and Rescue Service, who reported the blaze to the police.

All were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation based problems. One man was treated at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, and later discharged.

A local 24-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of arson. She remains in police custody.

Anyone who was in the vicinity between 1.30pm and 1.45pm who saw anything suspicious or anyone who has any information regarding the fire is asked to contact Det Sgt Andy Harwood.
