Fire crews are damping down following a major blaze at Seacroft Mobility at Croft today (Wednesday).

The operation is now being scaled back with three appliances and firefighters on the scene. The building has been gutted by the fire, which broke out at 4.47pm. At the height of the blaze the fire service tweeted: “We advise everyone in the area to keep doors and windows shut to avoid smoke entering properties.”

Police closed the adjacent road leading to Wainfleet from the A52 while fire crews from Skegness, Wainfleet and Spilsby tackled the blaze. Acrid smoke poured from the building which was visible for miles. The Standard understands all staff were evacuated .
