WIZARDLY adventures, woodland hikes and magical challenges all assisted Skegness 1st Souts on their way to attaining their creative challenge badges at a recent camping trip.

The young campers transformed the Tom Thumb Campsite near Spilsby into Howarts, for a fun weekend of outdoor pursuits themed around the popular Harry Potter series of books and films.

Just like the apprentice wizards in the novel , scouts were sorted into the four Hogwarts houses to compete against each other in the creative tasks.

They skilfully avoided the evil Lord Voldemort by following clues and answering riddles on a six mile hike through the surrounding countryside.

The scouts also used pyrography to decorate leather woggles and made golden snitches to hide in the ‘forbidden forest’.

Gryffindor were the winning house, presented with a special Hedwig owl woggle and to round off the fun weekend they all enjoyed a grand feast.
