Pupils at a Skegness school had a right royal time marking Queen Elizabeth II becoming Britain’s longest serving monarch.
A series of themed activities took place at Seathorne Primary School on Wednesday to celebrate The Queen’s record breaking 63 years and 216 days on the throne.
Children re-enacted the 1953 coronation, designed postage stamps, held a street party, baked cakes and wrote letters to The Queen as part of the monarch-inspired merriment. Nine-year-old Dakota Bangham had received a letter from The Queen after sending her some questions. Dakota said: “It was exciting when the letter arrived, because I had been waiting a long time.”
