A tiny harbour seal pup has been rescued by Natureland Seal Sanctuary in Skegness.

The pup, named Beth, was found orphaned on the beach to the south of the town at only a few days old with no mother in sight.

A little underweight, but otherwise in good condition, if the pup was left on the beach it would have succumbed to starvation and dehydration.

The pup was rescued by staff from Natureland and taken back to the seal hospital where rehydration fluids were given via stomach tube.

After a long sleep, the pup is now doing well and is tucking into her fish five times a day.

When she is strong enough to fend for herself she will be released back into the sea.

Natureland has rescued and rehabilitated almost 700 seals since it started this work back in 1965.
