A primary school in Spilsby is celebrating becoming an academy.
Spilsby Primary Academy was officially converted on April 1, during the Easter holidays.
Children returned to school to celebrate the change at a special assembly.
Headteacher Andrew Clarke said: “Whilst the move has been made in a bid to allow the school community to have greater autonomy and strategies for developing teaching and learning for all pupils, it also strengthens our relationship with Gipsey Bridge Academy. We are now part of a multi-academy trust.
“We have been in partnership with Gipsey Bridge for the last two-and-half-years and the strategic decison to become part of a multi-academy trust provides greater opportunities for staff and children to work in closer collaboration.”
All pupils have been presented with new PE bags and water bottles with the new academy logo.
