Last ditch bid to save library

A final attempt will be made to save Wainfleet Library at a public meeting tomorrow (Thursday).

The library and museum are currently located in the historic Magdalen College School.

The grade one listed ancient monument is leased by Lincolnshire County Council from Magdalen College, Oxford.

A community group withdrew an application to run the library last month in the face of a controversial county
wide reorganisation programme.

The meeting has been organised by Wainfleet and Burgh county councillor Chris Pain.

Coun Pain is negotiating a plan to secure the library’s future with Magdalen College and property company Savills.

The meeting is taking place at Bateman’s Brewery from 6.30pm.
