Labour win Chapel St Leonards by-election

Labour’s Fiona Brown won yesterday’s Chapel St Leonards by-election.

Fiona received 382 votes, with UKIP’s Giles Crust in second with 228.

Independents Richard Enderby and Mel Turton-Leivers received 206 and 175 votes respectively.

The Conservatives’ Kevin Sharpe polled 149 votes.

The turnout of elligible voters was 30.84 per cent.

Ms Brown will now take up her place on the district council alongside fellow Chapel St Leonards ward representative Coun Hazel Newcombe.
