Residents are encouraged to try out a range of activities published in the council’s recent NewsNK publication, and supported by a downloadable activity pack.
Coun Barker-Milan said: “Spring is a time for hope and renewal, and as we move through the Government roadmap, it’s the perfect time to show that our district is full of the joys of spring.

Coun Barker-Milan would like to see communities work together to create spring-themed trails in towns and villages, using the suggestions in the campaign or coming up with their own ideas, such as decorated windows, scarecrow trails and
community planting schemes.
“Our communities have done some fantastic things during the pandemic – from virtual bake-off events and socially-distanced treasure hunts, to displaying rainbows in windows – and we’d like to see more of it. Our favourite idea is using recycled materials to create spring displays in front gardens, and making a trail out of the crafts is a further Covid-safe way to bring people together.”
The activities are ideal for families or individuals, and as well as the pull-out section in NewsNK there is an activity pack on the NKDC website - at www.n-kesteven.gov.uk/creative - that’s free to download. The council is encouraging people to share their efforts online using the hashtag #JoysOfSpring.
