COMMUNITY groups in the local area will soon get the chance to find out how to claim their share of a £130,000 cash pot.
The district council is set to host a series of workshops next month, where local organisations and good causes will be able to learn more about the authority’s various grant schemes.
At present local groups can claim anything from £250 up to £8,000 to help towards their activities.
Announcing the new workshops and the £130,000 cash pot, community grants chairman, Cllr Edward Mossop said: “I’m pleased we have chosen to allocate this substantial sum of money.
“Since its launch three years ago, the scheme has supported lots of local community led projects.
“Hopefully once again this year we will be able to help realise more worthy community projects that otherwise might not happen without the financial support offered through the grant scheme.”
The workshops are expected to roll into Skegness on Wednesday, March 23 from 7pm to 8.30pm. The venue has yet to be announced.
Other workshops will also be held in towns outside the Standard’s catchment area from March 19 to 31. For details of these times call the district council’s grants team on 01507 601 111.
The grant schemes are open to all not for profit organisations and parish councils, and both revnue and capital projects can be supported.
The scheme is split into two rounds. The deadline for those wishing to receive cash in the first set of handouts is May 9.
Round two’s deadline will be in September.
