Residents in Spilsby have been upset to find the entrance to a play area is padlocked.
However, the town council is urging people to be patient because it is being refurbished.
Town clerk Bonny Smith said she had received some calls regarding the play area in Ancaster Avenue and wanted to reassure residents it would soon be open again.
She said: “Following the annual report by RoSPA, it was found that remedial work was necessary as there were Health and Safety issues raised.
“The safety of the children using the equipment was utmost in the councillors’ minds and so the play area has been closed.
“Much of the work has now been carried out, including removing the monkey bars and other items though unsafe. Some of the equipment is due to be repainted and repaired.
“There is a problem with the soft landing area and this is currently being investigated with the hope that all the works will be completed soon and the area re-opened.”
