A pharmacy team in Ingoldmells that provides a vital lifeline to patients has marked an incredible milestone.

Beacon Pharmacy celebrated its landmark 25,000th delivery with a special presentation to customers Sharon and Jim Hall. The chemist, based at the Beacon Medical Practice, employs three drivers to take items to patients in Burgh Le Marsh, Hogsthorpe, Mumby, Skegness, Ingoldmells and Chapel St Leonards – delivering to 400 customers a week.

It was a lovely surprise. I can’t believe the pharmacy has completed so many home deliveries.

Sharon and Jim, who have been patrons of the Beacon Pharmacy for three years, said they were surprised and delighted to be the 25,000th customer.

Jim has acute Parkinson’s Disease and it makes it very difficult for the couple from Skegness to get out to collect prescriptions.

Sharon said: “It was a lovely surprise. I can’t believe the pharmacy has completed so many home deliveries.

“We couldn’t manage without the service. The people are always so friendly and if we ever have a problem we know we can rely on them.”

Pharmacy manager Sophie Kirk said the service proved a real lifeline for many people who found it hard to make their own way to a chemist.
